Northern 3A
Lowry at Truckee
Last Friday night the Lowry Buckaroos travelled to Truckee and were beaten by the Wolverines 39-8. Truckee threw for 126 yards completing 6-11 with 3 touchdowns. Truckee also ran for 300 yards on 27 carries. Truckee held a 32-point lead at halftime.

Elko at Sparks
It has been 27 years since the Railroaders beat the Elko Indians. That streak ended Friday night when Sparks beat the undefeated Indians 24-13.
The first three possessions for the Indians were three and out situations. Elko had only 109 yards of total offense for the night. The bright spot for the Indians were the special teams where they had 180 yards returning kickoffs.

Dayton at Spring Creek
The Spartans had no problem with Dayton as they scored 28 first quarter points in route to a 42-0 shut out. Spring Creek scored twice in the second quarter and played with a running clock in the second half. Dayton finished with 107 yards passing with an interception. They also had just 71 yards rushing for the game for a total of 188 yards of offense.

Fallon at Wooster
The Greenwave shutout the Wooster Colts, 41-0.

South Tahoe at Fernley
South Tahoe’s promising start and expectations have come to a screeching halt as Fernley shut out the Vikings last week, 26-0. After destroying Sparks in the first week of league play, South Tahoe has been beaten in their last two games and drop to 1-2 in league play.

Southern 3A – Sunrise
Virgin Valley at Western
The Bulldogs rebounded from two consecutive losses by pounding the Western Warriors 52-7. Virgin Valley finished with 489 yards of total offense in the game.
Western couldn’t stop the Dawgs running game. Jayden Perkins ran the ball 10 times for 146 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He also had two receptions for a total of 61 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Cade Anderson finished with 142 yards passing throwing two touchdowns on 5-9 completions.

Virgin Valley started hot as they scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. Perkins scored first with a 49 yards touchdown pass reception from Anderson on their first possession at the 10:03 mark in the first quarter. He scored his second touchdown two and a half minutes later on a 34-yard run. Three minutes after that, Logan Felix intercepted a Joseph Medley pass and returned the ball 47 yards for a touchdown for a 20-0 Bulldog lead at the end of the first quarter.

Perkins scored again when he ran 20 yards for his third touchdown with 10:33 to play in the first half.
Western scored their only touchdown a minute later when Medley found Aaron Morales on an 80-yard touchdown pass. Felix scored his second for the Bulldogs on a 37-yard pass reception from Anderson. Anderson added a touchdown with a 25-yard touchdown run three minutes after half time.

Josua Abbott scored from 3 yards away with a minute and a half to play in the third quarter. The Bulldogs scored their final touchdown when Dayden Payne ran the ball 4 yards to the end zone with 3:51 to play in the game.

Western finished the game with 156 yards of total offense running for -4 yards of total offense. Their one 80 yard touchdown pass was half of their total passing yardage for the game.

Rancho at Del Sol
The Del Sol Dragons got their first win of the 2017 season with a huge 53-14 win over the Rancho Rams. Del Sol scored 28 points and that was just the first quarter.
Rancho finished with 162 yards of total offense, 106 running and 56 passing.

Foothill at Chaparral
The Cowboys hosted Foothill high school last Friday night and received their first loss of the season, 34-7. The Foothill Falcons scored 28 points before Chaparral found the end zone late in the third quarter.
Chaparral finished with 173 yards of total offense, 109 yards were on the ground on 26 attempts. The Cowboys finished with 64 yards passing on 7-11 attempts. Foothill had 371 yards of total offense, 176 yards rushing and 195 yards passing.

Sunrise Standings: Chaparral 3-1, Moapa Valley 2-1, Virgin Valley 2-2 and Del Sol 1-2. These are overall record.

Southern 3A – Sunset
Spring Valley at Sunrise Mtn.
The Miners continue to impress as they hosted and beat Spring Valley with a 29-13 win. The Miners put 26 points on the board before the Grizzlies found the end zone.
Sunrise Mountain finished with 424 yards of total offense, 249 rushing. Spring Valley finished with 267 yards of total offense, 181 rushing and 86 yards passing on 7-22 completions.

Boulder City at Pahrump
The Pahrump Valley Trojans beat the Boulder City Eagles 30-14 last Friday night. The Trojans held a 14-8 lead after the first half.

Silverado at Desert Pines
Not only did the Jaguars score their first points of the season last Friday night, they came away with a 48-0 win over the Skyhawks. Desert Pines finished with 256 yards of total offense, 250 of them passing. Silverado finished with just 43 yards of total offense, 41 of them rushing.

The first Desert Pines touchdown came from DeAundre Newsome when he caught a Tyler Williamson 26-yard pass with 9:38 to play in the first quarter. Branden Thomas then caught one from Williamson from 30 yards away six minutes later. Jyden King caught one four minutes later from 32 yards away for a 21-0 lead with 11:00 minutes to play in the first half. Jordan Howard then intercepted a pass and returned it 57 yards for another Jaguar touchdown.

After holding the Skyhawks to three and out Newsome caught his second touchdown pass from Williamson from 16 yards away. That made a 35-0 Jaguars lead at halftime.
With the second half played under a running clock, Howden intercepted his second touchdown pass with 1:40 to play in the third quarter from 40 yards away. The final touchdown came with 20 seconds left when Jamal Brown scored from a yard out for the Jaguars.

Cheyenne at Valley
The Desert Shields got their first win of the season when they travelled to Valley High School and came away with a 45-30 win.
Cheyenne finished with 500 yards of total offense with 367 yards coming on the ground. Valley finished with 322 total yards of offense, 184 yards coming through the air. Rose finished with 211 yards rushing and 133 yards passing in the game.
