A Breakfast That’s Hard To Beat!

By MAGGIE MCMURRAY

Moapa Valley Progress

There is no need to try to satisfy your morning hunger with a measly bowl of cereal anymore. For about the same cost as that bowl of cereal, you can have a full-fledged breakfast every Tuesday and Thursday morning at the Moapa Valley Community Center.

The Community Center, formerly known as the Overton Senior Center, is not just for seniors anymore and they are broadcasting that fact by inviting the whole community to join them in enjoying well-known Center Chef Reagan Whited’s cooking.

Offering breakfast is a new venture for the center. The seniors are using it as a fund-raiser to try to offset operating costs throughout the year that are not covered by grants and other monetary sources.
“We only have so much grant money so the funds are to go to help out with other expenses and activities,” said center director Cindy Marino.

Still, at only $4 a plate, this is a hard deal for breakfast-lovers to beat. The planned menu will consist of biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, and fruit and will be available Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6am to 8am in the main hall/dining room of the building. Currently, the center is planning to continue offering this breakfast deal from October 31 through next March.
