Boys Southern 3A – Sunrise
Boulder City
The Eagles came back to earth last week as they were beaten three times after a 5-0 start.
The first loss for the Eagles came on Tuesday against Spring Valley by the score of 66-62. Spring Valley built a 15-8 lead after the first quarter, a 36-23 lead by halftime. The Eagles made a valiant effort with a 20-9 run in the third quarter but gave up a 21-19 fourth quarter for a loss.
Wednesday night they played their first league game against the Chaparral Cowboys and lost 56-53. The game was played at Chaparral where the Cowboys held a 24-20 at halftime. Bailey scored 17 while Thomas added 12 Friday night.
The Valley Vikings beat the Eagles in overtime 71-69.

Del Sol
The Dragons played three games and won all three last week. That included a first league game against Virgin Valley where the Dragons doubled up the Dawgs 65-32.
Del Sol held a 16-10 lead after the first quarter then held the Bulldogs to a four and 6-point quarter in the third and fourth quarters to blow the Dawgs out. Keith Seldon scored 23 points to lead the Dragons while Maalik Flowers added 13. Meb Hollingshead scored 8 points to lead the Dawgs.
The Dragons beat Western in the first game of the week 49-35. Both teams struggled to score in the first quarter with Del Sol leading 8-5 after the first. Del Sol shot 8-23 from the free throw line for just less than 35 percent for the game.
Nati Asfaw scored 26 points for the Dragons while Seldon added 11. No one for Western was in double figures.

In their final game of the week, Del Sol played a second league game against Sky Pointe and came away with a big 56-22 win against the Eagles. Del Sol poured in 24 points in the first quarter to build a huge 24-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. They added an 18-6 run in the second quarter to force a running clock the rest of the game. Sky pointe scored 1 point in the third quarter. Seldon scored 14 points to lead everyone in scoring.

Sky Pointe
The Eagles were 0-2 last week with their season loss of the week coming to Somerset-Losse 66-45.The game was close until the second half when Losse outscored the Eagles 21-14 in the third and 24-14 in the fourth. Maxwell Lewis scored 26 points for Losse while Darion Pope-Johnson scored 12 and Tale Woody added 10. Treveone Swift scored 17 for Sky Pointe while Danny Cox added 16.

SECTA
Besides two wins against the Pirates last week, the Roadrunners beat Virgin Valley in league play to start last week, 59-32. They held the Bulldogs to single digits in every quarter. They had a lead of 17-6 by the end of the first quarter. Jurelle Orbino led everyone with 20 points, Isiah Villareal scored 11 and Zail Lewis added 10 for SECTA.
They played in the Bulldog Invitational at Virgin Valley last weekend where they were beaten by Enterprise Utah 59-50 in the first round, then beat Moapa Valley 65-56 followed by a 71-65 win over Pahrump Valley.

Virgin Valley
The Bulldogs finished the week with a 1-4 record with their only win coming against Pahrump Valley in the first round of the Bulldog Invitational, 59-53.
In that game Virgin Valley trailed 18-5 after the first quarter then 31-21 at halftime. The Trojans then had a meltdown as the Dawgs outscored them 38-22 for the win.
Jayden Perkins was the leading scorer with 21 points. Meb Hollingshead scored 13 and Riley Ward added 10 for Virgin Valley. Antonio Fortin led Pahrump Valley with 15 points followed by Bryce Odegard’s 12 and Brayden Severt’s 11.
They were beaten by Spring Valley in the second round 78-58 then by Cedar City 58-39. Virgin Valley is 2-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.

Girls Southern 3A – Sunrise
Boulder City
The Eagles were 2-0 last week. They beat Chaparral 55-42 where Madison Manns scored 16 points and Keely Alexander added 12 for the Eagles. Boulder City fell behind 12-8 by the end of the first quarter. They would go on a 47-30 point run the rest of the game. Brizeida Mora led the Cowboys with 14 points.
On Friday the Eagles travelled to Valley High School and came away with a 43-36 win over the Vikings. Valley shot 5-21 from the free throw line. The Eagles held an 8-7 lead after the first quarter a 20-18 lead at halftime. Hannah Estes scored 11 points to lead the Eagles. Jeuzei Pollins scored 16 points to lead the Vikings.
Boulder City is 5-2 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Del Sol
The Dragons were 1-2 last week with losses to Western 39-22 and Virgin Valley 33-25.
Del Sol was held to 2 points in the first quarter then held to 1 point in the third in the loss to Western.
Against Virgin Valley the Dragons scored 2-points in the first quarter and trailed 21-10 at halftime. Savannah Price scored 12 points for the Dawgs to lead everyone in scoring. Markay Merchant scored 10 for Del Sol.
In the lone win, a league win, the Dragons beat Sky Pointe 41-4. The Dragons scored a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Merchant scored 10 points to lead everyone. The score was 29-2 at half time.

Sky Pointe
The Eagles were 0-2 last week with the first loss of the week to Indian Springs 21-7. Last week Sky Pointe scored just 11 points in both of their games total. They are 0-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

SECTA
The Roadrunners were 0-2 last week with their first loss of the week at Virgin Valley 50-34. The Dawgs held a 11-6 lead after the first quarter then a 27-16 lead at halftime. Price scored 18 points to lead the Dawgs. Jazlyn Domingo-Naval scored 13 for the Roadrunners. SECTA is 0-5 overall and 0-2 in league play.
