Boys Southern 3A
Boulder City
The Eagles, who are in the middle of their best season in several years, travelled to California to play in the Paloma Valley Winter Shootout. They came away with a 2-2 record.
Their first game was against Valley View and a 55-42 win. The Eagles held a 26-12 lead at halftime then stopped Valley View in the second half for the win. Derrick Thomas scored 15 points for the Eagles while Ethan Speaker scored 10.

In their second game the Eagles were beaten by host team Paloma Valley where they lost by five points, 72-67. Paloma got out to a quick start and a huge lead: 23-7 in the first quarter and a 38 23 lead at halftime. The Eagles made a good effort in getting back with a 21-14 third quarter then 23-20 fourth quarter falling short. Karson Bailey led the Eagles with 13 points while Thomas added 12.
The third game saw the Eagles come back with a win over San Jacinto 80-62. The Eagles used a 28-13 run in the fourth quarter to break open a close game. Carson It was Thomas who lead everyone in scoring with 29 points.

The Eagles finished Christmas break with a loss to Lakeside California 62-54. This game was tied 26-26 at halftime, then saw Lakeside scored 36 in the second half including a 24-18 run in the fourth to clinch the win. Speaker lead the Eagles with 13 points, Ballistere scored 11 and Thomas scored 10 points.
The Eagles are 10-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Chaparral
The Cowboys played in the Las Vegas prep classic where they finished with a 1-3 record. They started with Legacy where they were beaten 68-43. Legacy outscored the Cowboys 21-4 in the first quarter and coasted to the win. Elijah Briggs lead the team with 11 points.
Their second game was not any closer with a twenty-five-point loss to Las Vegas, 72-57. Johnathon Tendale scored 24 points to lead the Cowboys.
The Cowboys were then beaten by Innovation International 46-36 in the Cowboys third game. Tendale scored 13 in that one for the Cowboys.
Their only win came against Jefferson California with a 72-56 win. Tendale scored 19 while Deionte Allen scored 12 and Briggs added 11 points.
The Cowboys are 7-4 overall and 4-0 in league play.

Del Sol
The Dragons played seven games over the Christmas break finishing with a 2-5 record.
They lost to La Serna California 72-39 in the first game. Then were beaten 61-51 by Yucaipa. They played Norco California and lost 50-46.
A win over Don Lugo 63-46 was their only tournament win.
They finished with a 56-41 loss to La Habra California.
They played two games last week where they lost to Eldorado 67-64. The Sun Devils outscored the Dragons by two points in the first and second quarters. Then the Sun Devils lead by a bucket after the third quarter before a 21-20 fourth quarter. Four players scored in double figures in the game. Keith Seldon and Nati Asfaw each had 14 points while Maalik Flowers and Devonte Anton Villarta each added 12 points.
In their final game of the Christmas break the Dragons beat Innovations International 66-45. The Dragons outscored Innovations 56-29 in the final three quarters. Seldon scored 26 points with Asfaw adding 11. The Dragons are 9-10 overall and 3-1 in league play.

Sky Pointe
The Eagles played in the Vegas Invitational where they were 1-4 with their lone win in the final game of the invite against Word of Life 56-55. They were beaten 64-61 by Mountain View and 59-33 against Chadwick School. The Meadow took the shot and won 66-45 before Adelson got a win over the Eagles 65-35. The Eagles are 3-9 overall and 0-3 in league play.

SECTA
The Roadrunners were 1-3 at the Vegas Invitational with their win against The Meadows in the first game their lone win 56-46. They were beaten by St. Joseph 76-59, Pahrump Valley 59-35 and Mountain View 77-73. SECTA is 6-9 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Virgin Valley
The Bulldogs are 3-14 overall and 0-4 in league play. They played in the Tri-state Holiday invitational where they lost all but one game.
They started with Cobola Arizona and lost 61-53. The Dawgs led after the first quarter 13-10 then were outscored the other three quarters in the loss. Jayden Perkins lead the Dawgs with 15 points. Riley Waite added 12.
In the second game the Dawgs played Desert Oasis and were destroyed, 81-40. Desert Oasis held a 35-12 first quarter lead then coasted for the win. Perkins scored 18 in the loss.
Their next loss came at the hands of Basic. The Dawgs could only score 19 points in this game a 55-19 loss.

They beat Lincoln County 50-46. The Dawgs outscored Lincoln 19-4 in the first quarter. Lincoln tried to comeback with a 23-14 fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs suffered a 56-34 loss to Rancho in the final game of the tournament. Jason Brooks scored 13 points to lead the Dawgs.
In the final game of the Christmas break for the Dawgs, they travelled to Alamo and lost 59-38. Alamo scored a 17-7 first quarter then outscored the dawgs the rest of the was for the win. Brooks was the leading scorer with 11 points for the Dawgs.

Girls Southern 3A
Boulder City
The Eagles played in the Gator Winter Classic and came away with a 1-4 record. The Eagles started against Coronado and were beaten 52-47. The Eagles held an eight-point halftime lead before Coronado scored a 19-10 third quarter and never trailed again. Madison Manns scored 14 points for the Eagles while Setia Cox added 13 points.
The Eagles then beat Yerington 41-39 Keely Alexander scored 13 to lead the Eagles.
Dixie beat Boulder City 35-24 as the Eagles were cold coming up with just four points in each of the third and fourth quarters. Dixie scored just 2 points in the fourth, enough for the win. Manns score 11 for the Eagles.
The Eagles finished Christmas break with a 40-46 loss to Clark. Manns finished with 11 points followed by Alexander’s 10.
The Eagles are 7-6 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Virgin Valley
The Bulldogs are 7-8 overall and 3-1 in league play to start this week. They played in the Gator Winter Classic where they finished 1-3.
Their first game was against Spring Valley and a 62-15 blowout loss to the 4A Grizzlies. Spring Valley built a 31-6 lead in the first quarter. The Bulldogs scored 2 points in the second, 3 points in the third and 4 points in the fourth.
The Dawgs beat Las Vegas 50-21. It was 26-12 at halftime. Taylor Barnum scored 16 while Areli Ponce added 10 for Virgin Valley. They lost to Casteel Arizona 64-39 then lost to Chaparral 63-52. Barnum scored 18 points in the Bulldog loss.
