William Anderson

William Milton Anderson, age 44, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his home in Moapa, Nevada. He was born March 18, 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Milton William and Shirley Ann Bow Anderson.

William grew up in Moapa, where he graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1991. He then graduated from graphics art school in Tempe, Arizona. He lived for a time in Las Vegas, but kept coming back to Moapa where he served as the Tribal Chairman for two separate terms. He was open minded yet strong willed in his political career. He was instrumental in bringing the solar plants to the Tribal Lands.

Although he broke his back at the age of 21 and suffered through many health challenges, he was respected for his open nature and bright intellect. He was very proud of the work he did on environmental issues that affected the tribe. He was always a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include his son, Logan Fox Anderson; his mother, Shirley Anderson; four sisters and one brother: Launa Lane of Moapa, NV, Monica Surrett, Betty Henry, Dolian Molden and Kage Thompson, all of Moapa, Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moapa Tribal Building. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. A Traditional Sing will follow the services. Interment will be Saturday morning at sunrise in the Moapa Tribal Cemetery.
