Elmer Waite
Elmer LaVoy Waite, age 87, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born May 8, 1930 in Kanosh, Utah to Delbert and Ethelyn Robison Waite. On July 13, 1954 he married Elaine Perkins in the St. George LDS Temple.
Elmer grew up in Bunkerville, Nevada. He raised his family in Las Vegas, Nevada working for the Department of Transportation before moving to Moapa Valley in 1979. Always active in the LDS Church, he enjoyed serving in the Temple.
He is survived by his sweetheart of over 63 years, Elaine; one daughter and four sons: Claudia (Dirk) Richards of West Jordan, UT, Mark (Oneita) of Las Vegas, NV, Herb (Pam) of Logandale, NV, Anthony (Rick Rawlins) of Swampscott, MA and Matthew (Dawn) of Friday Harbor, WA; 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two siblings, Lynn and Glade.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Overton LDS Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
