Businesses Invest In Mesquite Works

Moapa Valley Progress

Mesquite Works Chairman George Gault, left, receives a check for $250 from Justin Teerlink, branch manager of Nevada Bank and Trust.

In January, two Mesquite employers started off the new year showing support for the Mesquite Works organization, a non-profit workforce development group based in Mesquite.

On January 16, Justin Teerlink, branch manager of Nevada Bank & Trust, presented a check for $250 to Mesquite Works chairman George Gault as a part of their commitment to giving back to the community.
In addition, Primex Plastics also continued their ongoing support of the organization with another donation of $1,000 presented by Primex HR Administrator Kim Woolsey on Jan. 12.
“I cannot emphasize how much this helps our mission,” said Gault. “Without the involvement and investment from our local businesses, we wouldn’t be here today doing what we do to help our residents obtain better jobs so they can provide for their families. The results these businesses see from our efforts come back to them in a huge way.”

The nonprofit organization has helped over 100 clients throughout the past year learn how to successfully interview for jobs around the Virgin and Moapa Valleys with their various classes and skilled volunteers as well as many job fairs.

Mesquite Works will be partnering with the Eureka Casino Resort and the Rising Star Sports Ranch again this year for each of their job fairs. The next event is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rising Star Sports Ranch Grand Ballroom, many local companies will be in attendance looking for their next great employee.
