MVHS Wrestling Program
The Moapa Valley Youth Wrestlers held their third annual Marty Taggart Grappler last Saturday at the High School. It was the most successful tournament for the program yet with over 300 wrestlers and 23 teams competing from Nevada and Utah.
The Pirates placed 5th as a team in the tournament which was their best finish all year.
The tournament was a huge success thanks to the help of the families and coaches of the wrestlers as well as members of the community who volunteered their time to make it all happen.
The coaching staff would like to thank all those who participated in any way for your help, especially JD Cornwall and his crew for providing food and Marty and April Taggart for making the drive out to the valley to support the tournament and sing the National Anthem (April).
The Pirate youth wrestlers will compete at the regional seeding tournament on Saturday. The state tournament will be the following week.
