3A Baseball – Sunrise
Boulder City
On April 30, Boulder City made short work of Chaparral as the Eagles beat the Cowboys 14-2 in five innings. Boulder City scored a run in the first, two in the second, six runs in the third and five more in the fourth for a 14-0 lead. Chaparral scored their two runs in the top of the fifth.
Boulder City was led by Chafton Temple who hit a double and a single with four RBI’s and scored two runs. Nolan Herr and Travis Hungerford each scored twice while DJ Reese had a hit and drove home four RBI’s. Rhett Armstrong had three hits going three for three with an RBI.
On Wednesday the Eagles hosted Del Sol in the last game of the regular season. Del Sol started with three runs in the top of the first inning. Boulder City tied the game in the bottom half of the first with three runs themselves. They added two runs in the second, six in the third, two in the fourth and then walked off with a run in the bottom of the fifth. The Eagles had twelve hits while holding the Dragons to just two.
The Eagles won the league title and will be the top seed from the Sunrise in this week’s tournament.

Virgin Valley
The Bulldogs have been playing their best baseball these last four weeks. They finished with a 7-3 league record winning four of their last five games.
On Wednesday they shut out Chaparral 9-0. The Dawgs started the game with a four run first inning at Chaparral. They added a run in the second then scored three more in the third before a final run in the top of the fourth. Chaparral could only muster up four hits in the game.
Cade Anderson of Virgin Valley hit a homerun and a double scoring three RBI’s. Kaden Peterson had three hits, one a double and drove in two RBI’s.
Anderson pitched the shutout striking out seven, walking one and hitting one.
The Bulldogs are the second-place team and will host a first round game.

Chaparral
The Cowboys are the third seed from the Sunrise. They finished their regular season with the Clark Chargers winning 13-6.
The Cowboys will travel in the first round of the regional tournament.

SECTA
The Roadrunners beat Del Sol to start last week 12-1 in five innings. SECTA scored six runs in the top of the third inning to lead 7-1 by the end of the third inning.
They lost to SLAM last Thursday in the final home game for the Roadrunners, 16-4. SLAM scored five runs in the top of the third and six runs in the top of the seventh
SECTA is the fourth seed from the Sunrise and will travel for a first round game.

Del Sol
The Dragons finished with a 1-9 league record. They finished the season with an 8-4 loss to Western last Friday. Western took a 5-3 lead during the first inning. Western finished with thirteen hits. Del Sol had three.

3A Baseball – Sunset
Pahrump Valley
The Trojans finished the regular season in first place in the Sunset. They played four games last week. Two league and two non-league games.
In the non-league games, they beat Sierra Vista 5-2 and Durango 7-3.
In the league games they beat Sunrise Mountain 15-0 in three innings. Pahrump scored four runs in the first, five runs in the second and six runs in the third. The Trojans had nineteen hits in the game while Sunrise Mountain had one hit.
The second league game they travelled to Western. The Trojans beat the Warriors 13-5. They scored three runs in the second, five in the third and four in the sixth.

Desert Pines
The Jaguars had the best regular season record with a 20-8 record. They finished second in the Sunset with an 8-2 league record.
Last week the Jaguars beat Cheyenne 16-1 in the first game. Desert Pines started with five runs in the first inning then finished with seven runs in the fifth ending the game. Cheyenne had four hits total in the game.
In the second game the Jaguars beat Western 9-3. Desert Pines took a 3-0 lead into the top of the fourth. Then western tied the game with three runs in the top of the fourth. Desert Pines responded with three runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to win the game going away.

Western
The Warriors have nine wins overall but are the third-place team from the Sunset with a 5-5 league record.

Mojave
Mojave is 3-7 in league play and will be the fourth seed in the tournament. The Rattlers took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning before Cheyenne cut the lead in half with two runs in the bottom half. Cheyenne added a run in the fifth then fell two behind headed into the bottom of the seventh. Cheyenne won the game with three runs in the seventh for a 6-5 win over the Rattlers.
The Rattlers then lost to Sunrise Mountain 6-1 on Friday.
Sunrise Mountain finished with a 3-7 record but out of the playoffs. Cheyenne finished 2-8.

Regional tournament South
Pahrump will host SECTA and the winner will play the winner of Virgin Valley and Western. That game is in Virgin Valley. The highest seed will host the second-round game.
Boulder City will host Mojave. The winner will get the winner of Desert Pines and Chaparral game.
This is a double elimination tournament with the top two teams qualifying for the state tournament next week in Reno.

Regional tournament North
Elko the top seed has a bye in the first round. They will get the winner of #4 South Tahoe and #5 Dayton.
Churchill county is the second seed. They will get a bye in the first round and play the winner of #3 Truckee and #6 Spring Creek.
This is also a double elimination tournament and is held in Fallon.

3A Softball – Sunrise
Boulder City
The Eagles have finished as the second seed from the Sunrise. They have won their last five games allowing just three runs total in the last three games. They shut out both Chaparral 8-0 and Del Sol 11-0 last week to end the league season. They beat Basic in the final regular season game 13-3.
Marleena Mills and Lily Osman each drove in two RBI’s for the Eagles against Chaparral. In the Del Sol game the Eagles ended the game with six runs scored to end the game in five innings. Ashley Wishard scored five RBI’s for the Eagles.

Virgin Valley
The Bulldogs finished 5-5 and will be the third seed from the Sunrise. The Dawgs beat Chaparral 5-4 last Wednesday. Virgin Valley scored four runs in the top of the fifth then held on to win. The Dawgs travelled to Lincoln County last Thursday and beat the Lynx 7-6.

Chaparral
The Cowboys dropped to fourth place with the loss to Virgin Valley.

Del Sol
The Dragons finished with a 3-7 record and outside of the playoff list. Their last game was against the Western Warriors, a 21-11 win. Del Sol scored eight runs in the third and ten runs in the fourth.

SECTA
The Roadrunners finished the season winless in the Sunrise and had one win overall.

3A Softball – Sunset
Pahrump Valley
The Trojans won the regular season title with a 10-0 league record. They finished 23-8 overall. They did lose to both Boulder City and Moapa Valley early in the season.
Last week they beat Sunrise Mountain 15-0 on Thursday. They scored fourteen runs in the first inning and ended the game in the third inning with a single run scored.
The second game was at Western where the Trojans beat the Warriors 20-3 in four innings. The Trojans scored ten runs in the top of the fourth to put the game away.

Mojave
The Rattlers finished second with an 8-2 record in league play and 10-7 overall. They beat Cheyenne 8-7 on Thursday as they came from behind and scored five runs in the top of the sixth, then held on for the win.
They shut out Sunrise Mountain Friday 10-0. The Miners had three hits in the game as Mojave scored three runs in each of the first two innings to build a 6-0 lead in the five-inning game.

Western
The Warriors are the third seed from the Sunset with a league record of 5-5 and 10-12 overall.
The Warriors started the week with a 13-11 win over Desert Pines. They scored nine runs in the first inning and three in the sixth before holding on for the win.

Desert Pines
The Jaguars finished as the fourth and final team to qualify for the regional Sunset tournament. The Jaguars were 4-6 in league play and 9-11 overall. Last week they beat Cheyenne 7-0.
Sunrise Mountain finished fifth in the Sunset with a 3-7 record while Cheyenne was winless this season in both league and overall.

Baseball regional tournament.
Pahrump Valley will host Vo-Tech where the winner will play the winner of Virgin Valley and Western. That game is in Virgin Valley. The highest seed will host the second-round game. Boulder City will host Mojave where the winner will get the winner of Desert Pines and Chaparral which is played at Desert Pines. This is a double elimination tournament with the top two teams qualifying for the state tournament next week in Reno.

Northern Nevada regional tournament.
Elko the top seed has a bye the first round and will get the winner of #4 South Tahoe and #5 Dayton. Churchill county is the second seed. They will get a bye in the first round getting the winner of #3 Truckee and #6 Spring Creek. This is also a double elimination tournament and is held in Fallon.

Regional tournament South
Pahrump will host Chaparral while Boulder city will host Western in first round games. The winners will play each other in the second round.
Moapa Valley will host Desert Pines while Mojave will host Virgin Valley with the two winners facing each other in the second round. The higher seeded teams will host.

Regional tournament North
Fernley is the top seed and will get a bye in the first round. They will face the winner of #4 Dayton and #5 Elko.
Lowry is the second seed and will get the winner of #3 Churchill County and #6 Spring Creek.
The State tournament will be held at Reno High School.
