3A Baseball
The state baseball tournament was completed last weekend. Boulder City, the two-time state champion was the first team eliminated from the tournament. The Eagles lost to Truckee in the very first game 7-4.
Truckee scored three runs in the first inning, which was the difference in the game. Boulder City could never catch up.
In the elimination game against Pahrump Valley, the Eagles gave up four runs in the fourth and ended their season.
Pahrump lost to Elko in the first game 8-3. Then they lost to Elko again, 9-4, in the semi-final after their win over Boulder City.
Truckee went on to win the state title with two wins over Elko. The first 8-4 and the championship game 10-6.
3A Softball
Boulder City won the first game of the State Tournamentwith a 5-0 victory over Lowry. The Eagles scored two runs in the first and three runs in the third.
The Eagles were shutout in the second game against Fallon, 2-0.Fallon scored twice in the fourth inning.
Lowry came back to beat the Eagles in the elimination game 13-2. Lowry scored four runs in the fifth and sixth innings then three runs in the seventh.
Pahrump Valley lost to Fallon 12-2 in five innings as the Greenwave scored six runs in the fifth.
The Trojans then lost to Lowry 8-0 as Lowry scored six runs in the sixth inning. Fallon won the state title with three runs in the bottom of the sixth beating Lowry 3-1.
