There is a new face to greet local residents at the Overton office of Fidelity National Title (FNT). But to many it is a familiar face. Moapa Valley resident Jennifer Thornton is now working in the local office and is ready to fulfill all of the title needs of valley customers in a much more convenient setting.
The Overton Fidelity National Title office was opened near the end of 2016 in its current location at 196 S. Moapa Valley Blvd #5-6. It was initially opened as a part-time auxiliary office to the location in Mesquite. with one of the Mesquite employees travelling south two days a week to service the Overton location. According to FNT President David Bennett of Mesquite, the goal was always to find a Moapa Valley resident to take over that part-time position and eventually maybe even work it into a full-time office.
With the recent hiring of Thornton, that goal has come just one more step toward being realized.
“We hired Jennifer Thornton about three months ago,” said Bennett. “She is local to Moapa Valley so she can be a little more flexible with her days and evenings to make signings more convenient.”
Jennifer had previously been working in Las Vegas doing sales in the flooring industry. But she said that when she heard about the local opportunity with FNT, she jumped at the chance. “I love the work, and am hoping to be able to make a career out of it,” she said.
Jennifer still goes to Las Vegas a couple of days a week to work in the flooring business. But she is flexible enough with her hours that she can work with almost everyone’s schedule to meet their title needs, she said.
“It’s so nice for people out here to not have to go to Mesquite or Las Vegas to do their signings,” Jennifer said. “I am in the Overton office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but can make arrangements to meet clients at other times when necessary.”
When not working, Jennifer loves being with her family camping, riding ATVs, or going to the lake.
Fidelity National Title, the largest title company in the United States, has been a part of southern Nevada since the 1970s and is a Fortune 300 Company. Since the early 1990s, FNT has been a part of the Mesquite community and has served countless members of both Virgin Valley and Moapa Valley.
“Lots of transactions have been done in our Mesquite office over the years,” said Bennett.
