A New Year For The M.V. Chamber of Commerce, And New Officers

The Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce has big changes for 2019; starting with new officers on the Chamber Board.

Recently installed as the new Chamber President is Vanette Christensen, a retired law enforcement Sergeant and now Co-Owner (with husband Gary) of Xtreme Stitch & Print in Overton. Vanette states her mission and focus as President will be to restore community confidence in the Chamber while working to build business relationships that benefit and prosper our members and our community as a whole.

Chamber Vice-President is Pam Duvall. Duvall works as Branch Manager of Washington Federal Bank in Overton where she leads her team focused on very friendly customer service.

The new Chamber Secretary is Lois Hall. Hall is always involved in community service. She is co-owner of Cal’s Repair Center in Overton and is also a newly appointed member of the Moapa Valley Town Advisory Board.

Returning to serve on the Chamber Board as Treasurer is Bret Staley, owner & chiropractic physician at Moapa Valley Chiropractic.

The Board of Directors is extending an invitation to all business owners in the Moapa Valley areas of Overton, Logandale, Moapa & Glendale – including professional home-based business owners – to a Meet & Greet Mixer on Wednesday, January 23, at 6:00 pm in the Old Overton Gym at 179 S. Anderson St., Overton.

The evening will include information from community member Jean Gottschalk who is organizing a Moapa Valley Bicycling Event call “The Loop”.
“A light dinner and raffle prizes are included in the evening of networking,” said Christensen. “We encourage and invite current Chamber Members plus all local business owners to attend and find out how we are focused on building strong business networks while serving the needs of our rural community.”

“Come join the Chamber” Christensen adds. “By working together, we are building the strength of our community.”
