Moapa Valley Justice Court Report (March 6, 2019)

Criminal court was held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 with Judge Gregor Mills presiding. All cases listed in the order called.

Aaron Davidson- Charges: Assault with deadly weapon. Defendant pled to amended charges of Drawing Weapon in Threatening Manner and Simple Assault, both of which are misdemeanor charges. Given a fine which was paid immediately and the case was closed.

Charles Ermeling- Charges: Driving Under Influence; Possession of controlled substance; Failure to obey stop sign; Driving without Driver’s License. Defendant pled guilty to the DUI charge. Other three charges dismissed. Received $1000 fine, with six month jail sentence suspended for one year to stay out of trouble. Also required to attend DUI school and Victim Impact Panel. Status Check set for 4/24/2019.

Gary Conley- Charges: Driving without proof of insurance. Defendant appeared in custody. He had been cited with charges in 2018 but had not appeared in court and never brought in proof of insurance as required. He also had five additional traffic citations that had been issued which had not been resolved. A warrant had been issued. Defendant was arrested on 2/18 and spent nine days in custody. He was given credit for time served against a portion of his fines. He was then released from custody and expected to pay the remainder of the fines. Status check scheduled for 3/27/2019.

Christopher Kelly- Status Check on Charges: Petit Larceny; Obstruction of Police Officer. Defendant appeared in custody. Had picked up new charge in a Las Vegas court to which he had pled No Contest. But he was under orders on the local charges to stay out of trouble. Defendant had also failed to appear for Status Check in September 2018 on Petit Larceny Charge so a warrant had been issued. Judge closed the Obstruction case. Released Defendant from custody as far as Moapa Valley court was concerned. Set status check on Petit Larceny charge for 3/27/2019.

Jeremy Comparoni- Status Check on Charges: Theft; Violation of restraining order; Petit Larceny. Defendant had agreed to pay restitution on charges. This requirement had not been met. Had received six months jail sentence held in abeyance to stay out of the court jurisdiction for three years. Public Defender had contacted Defendant on Feb. 3 and Defendant had promised restitution would be paid. No other contact had been made. Bench warrant was issued.

Cody Paschal- Status check on Charges: Domestic Battery. Defendant was not present in court. Matter had been continued since 2/13 when Defendant was also not present. It appeared that none of the conditions had been met and no contact had been made with defense attorney. Bench warrant issued.

Cameron Marshall- Status Check on Charges: Burglary. Defendant had completed the portion of Community Service required thus far and was on track. Status check set for 3/27/2019.

Monica Dominguez- Trial on Charges: Disturbing the Peace. Defendant wanted to proceed with trial. No jail time being sought by the state so Public Defender not appointed. Defendant represented herself.
After witnesses had been called and cross examined, the judge found for the state in the case. Sentenced Defendant with a $250 fine and a requirement to stay out of trouble for six months. Judge explained that if terms are violated, Defendant could be found in contempt of court. Status check set for 6/5/2019.
