Pirate Track Teams Dominate In Mid-Week Meet

Moapa Valley travelled to Chaparral on Tuesday, March 12 for a run against Pahrump Valley and Chaparral. Both the Pirate boys and girls teams won the meet. The girls scored 97 points beating Pahrump Valley who scored 49 and Chaparral who scored 25.

The Boys team scored 91 points while Pahrump Valley scored 53 and Chaparral 38.
Individually for the girls, Alexis Gould placed fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 13.6. Bailee Andrew placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 29.6. Andi Hillstead won the 400 meters with a time of 1:08.5 while Hannah Williams finished third with a time of 1:09.2.

The Pirates placed the top three in the 800 meters with Ashlyn Western finishing first at 2:39.3. Emma Hughes finished second in 2:48.5 and Elin Rohdin finished third with a time of 2:55.9.

In the 1600 meters the Pirates placed the top three as well with Western finishing first, 5:51.7; Humes second, 6:00.6; and Laura Adams third 6:54.3.

Skotlyn Hills won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.4, then she took the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 51.3. Hannah Watson finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.8.

Averree Widdison won the shotput with a throw of 27 feet. Madyson Whitney placed third in the discus with a throw of 79-6. Hill placed second in the High Jump with a height of 4-02 tied with Talley Blackwell. Watson won the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet, the long jump with a jump of 15-06 and the triple jump with 31 feet. Faith Witter finished second in the pole vault with a vault of 8 feet. Sydney Landini finished third in the long jump with 14-02.

On the boys’ side, Tristan Lehman place third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.8.
Three Pirates were in the top three of the 800 meters: Preston Humes at 2:09.9, Jerrick Stastny at 2:13.8, and Bryton Dorsey 2:19.1.

Stastny won the 1600 meters with a time of 5:06 while Grady Call placed second 5:18.8.
Humes won the 3200 meters with a time of 10:57.6.

Garret Clove won the 300 meter hurdles at 46.1 and placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.2.

Kele Henderson won the shotput with a throw of 39-3.5. Josh Cox placed second with a throw of 37-10.

Cox finished first in the discus, 126-5. Kellen Wallace was second 113-5, and Jackson Mills was third at 105-8.

Yadon Witsken placed second in the Pole Vault 10-6. Will Uri finished third 9-00.
Lehman won the Long Jump 20-07. Witsken and Clove finished second and third in the triple jump 34-06 and 34-05.

The teams travelled to Palo Verde on Friday for the Odea relays where every event was a relay. In the case of field events three team members distances were added together for placing. As a team the Pirate girls placed tenth of sixteen while the boys finished eleventh.

On Wednesday the Pirates will host the Midweek meet with Valley and Virgin Valley coming to Moapa Valley.
