Moapa Valley Justice Court Report (September 25, 2019)

Criminal court was held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 with Judge Gregor Mills presiding. All cases listed in the order called.

Evan Schwob- Charges: Battery/Domestic Violence. Defendant’s presence waived in court. Had paid fines and completed counseling requirement. Forty-eight hours of Community Service still must be completed. Status check set for 12/18/2019.

Cody McGrew- Charges: Trespassing; Resisting Public Officer; Harassment; Battery/Domestic Violence; Failure to Provide for Animal; Unsanitary Conditions involving Animal. Defendant appeared in custody. Public defender stated that he could not be appointed due to a conflict of interest. A contract defense attorney was then appointed. Judge maintained standard bail on all charges and reminded of a restraining order to stay away from alleged victims and the location of the alleged trespass.
The case was continued to 9/25/2019 when the attorney could be present.

Tyler Frazier- Charges: Attempt to Commit Act of Terrorism; Attempt to Commit Arson; Possession of Explosive or Incendiary Device; Non resident Driving on Suspended License. Defendant appeared in custody. He has been indicted on the felony charges and will likely remain in custody for those proceedings. Those matters have been bound over to District Court. On the “Suspended License” charge, however, defendant was given credit for time already served and the case was dismissed.

Jonathan Lara- Status check on Charges: Malicious Destruction of Property; Domestic Battery. Defendant showed documentation that he had begun attending the required counseling sessions. Had not yet paid restitution. Judge encouraged Defendant to continue with counseling sessions and deal with restitution later. Status check set for 12/18/2019.

Agustin Candia- Status check on Charges: 3 counts of Battery/Domestic Violence; . Defendant paid fines and completed community service. Has been attending classes with 24 more to go. Status check set for 11/20/2019.

Justin Horton-Hansen- Status check on Charges: Battery; Disorderly Conduct. Defendant had paid fines, completed most of Community Service and paid much of Restitution. Status Check set for 11/202/2019.

Gary Connelly- Status check on Charges: Resist Public Officer. Defendant had

Osmany Cardenas- Status check on Charges: Battery Domestic Violence. Defendant entered no contest plea to the charge. Sentenced to 90 day jail sentence suspended to stay out of trouble. $348 fine. Mandatory weekly counseling for 6 months. 48 hours of Community Service which were commuted to two days already served in jail. Also an order to have no contact with victim in the case. Adjudication will be stayed so that, if all requirements are filled, the case will be dismissed. Status check set for 11/20/2019.
