Local Team Seeks Members For Children’s Heartwalk Fundraiser

Mikheala lost her life in 2001 at the age of five years old. The youngest daughter of Overton residents Scott and Carrie Beckstrand, Mikheala was born with a significant heart disease requiring her to undergo a total of nine open heart surgeries during her short life; the first one coming when she was only six weeks old.

Local Actors Prepare For “St. Thomas Alive”

Some 50 actors -- kids, teens and adults -- have been rehearsing for weeks to give voice next month to former residents of St. Thomas, the once bustling town drowned beneath Lake Mead in the 1930s.
