Dennis Parsons, better known to Moapa Valley locals as Dennis FedEx passed away on Saturday, October 27. With almost 30 years of delivering packages for FedEx, Dennis is well known to the residents of Moapa Valley.

His wife Gail said he liked his job, but he loved his route. “He loved visiting with people and he really cared about those that he delivered to,” she said.

He was a respected friend to many Moapa Valley customers and colleagues alike.
“Dennis may have been my competition on the job but he was always there to help anyone,” said Anne Gaball, better known to locals as UPS Annie. “He loved his job and was always up for a good chat.”

Dennis was known for his mustache and braided hair. Gail braided his hair every morning before work.
Dennis, dressed as Black Jack the Pirate King, also loved spending time with his Renaissance Faire family. Gail said that the week before his passing, she discovered their extended family consists of 300-400 people. She knew they had a large group that loved them, but knowing all these people care about her family is amazing, she said.

Tyson Green worked closely with Dennis during the Renaissance Faire. “He was always giving to others,” Tyson said. “He was dedicated to his friends. He put all his efforts and energy into other people. If I can say anything about Dennis, it’s that he was dedicated to people.”

Residents of Moapa Valley were saddened to hear of Dennis’ passing. However, one final magical moment was shared by another fellow character from the Renaissance Faire who goes by Penelope Pendragon.

“Always a helper and an initiator of great things, Dennis combined those two skills even in death with his final grand deed of being an organ donor,” Pendragon said. “In his honor, friends, family, and hospital staff did the very first Walk of Life through Mountain View Hospital [in Las Vegas, Nevada] to escort our dear friend and Guild Master into the operating room to help him continue to help others.”

Dennis Parsons had an enormous impact on the residents of Moapa Valley and those in which he came in contact. He is lovingly remembered by his parents, sisters, son, nieces, grandniece, and many friends.
