MVHS seniors l to r Derek Reese, Jessup Lake and Kaleb Frankford each signed to play football at the college level next year.

Three Moapa Valley High School seniors will be taking their football skills to the next level. MVHS football players Derek Reese, Jessup Lake and Kaleb Frankford recently signed to play football at college in three different schools.

Jessup Lake signed with Wisconsin River Falls in River Falls, Wisconsin. Last year, Lake played defensive end for the Pirates and was the second leading tackler with 48 solo tackles and 42 assisted. He averaged 7.5 tackles per game.

Lake lead the Pirates in sacks with 12.5 averaging one sack a game. Lake had an Interception which he returned for a touchdown. He recovered two fumbles and caused four others. He also blocked two punts.

Lake ran the ball 20 times for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was named all state defensive end as well as all southern region defensive end. He was the defensive player of the year in the Sunrise league.

Last summer Lake moved into southern Nevada from Logan Magnolia, a school which had an 18-4 record while Jessup played his sophomore and junior years.
He was recruited by River Falls as a defensive end. River Falls is a Division III school.

Kaleb Frankford signed with Snow College in Ephraim Utah. Snow is a national junior college power.
Frankford played the offensive and defensive tackle for MVHS. He finished with 16 tackles.

He also carries a 3.17 GPA and was named first team all state offensive line and second team defensive line. He was first team all southern region offensive line. He was the lineman of the year in the Sunrise.

Derek Reese signed with Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Derek was named to the first team all state and to the all southern Region first team both as the tight end. He was the Pirates leading receiver with 25 catches for 499 yards. His longest was a 85 yard reception. He scored 8 touchdowns last year. Defensively he played linebacker where he had 18 tackles.
