Members of the Moapa Valley High School graduating class of 2019 gathered on Saturday night at the Adams residence in Logandale to enjoy a jam-packed evening of graduation-night festivities.
The newly graduated seniors were able to participate in various activities including swimming, beach volleyball, a photo booth and prize drawings that were done throughout the night. Over $3,000 in cash, prizes and gift cards were awarded to various attendees.
The beach volleyball area seemed to be a favorite for many. At one point, nearly the entire senior class could be found playing on the sandy court. Others could be found jumping in the pool, taste testing the soda combinations or dancing near the DJ stand.
“The party was bittersweet,” said graduate Rebecca Rebman. “It was so fun hanging out with everyone and participating in the activities and giveaways, but it’s hard thinking that it could be the last time.”
For many seniors, the party was a final opportunity to mingle with classmates and peers.
“What I loved most about the party, and honestly the whole week, was how the senior class came together,” said 2019 Student Body President Gannon Hanevold. “It seemed like everyone supported one another and there was so much love. My older siblings have talked about their memories from their graduation parties so it was fun to make some of my own.”
After a long week of tests and final assignments leading up to graduation, the senior grad night was the perfect way to close out the school year.
“I feel like the night went great,” said Maliyah Totten, 2019 Senior Class President. “We had a great turnout and everyone was having fun. My favorite part was definitely getting to hang out and talk with everyone.”
The party was planned almost entirely by parents of graduating seniors. Many helped arrange food, drinks, activites and giveaways. Local businesses and individuals donated prizes to be used in drawings and door prizes for the students.
The graduating class of 2019 would like to thank all the parents that made the party possible, as well as Mrs. Liz Adams for opening her home to the entire MVHS class of 2019.
