Restrictions on bars to be lifted in Clark, Elko Counties

The Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force has approved lifting previous restrictions on bars, pubs, breweries, distilleries, wineries, taverns and bar areas within restaurants in Clark County and Elko County. The announcement of this development was made on Thursday, Sept. 17 and will be effective on Sunday, September 20 at 11:59pm.

At a previous Task Force meeting held  September 10, the Task Force approved lifting previous restrictions on these businesses within restaurants in Washoe County and Nye County. This along with Thursday’s action allows the businesses to be reopened in all Nevada counties.

“I am beyond thrilled that the hard work of Nevada’s residents and businesses has resulted in our COVID-19 data trending in a positive direction, allowing the Task Force to lift restrictions on bars in counties that previously had these mitigation measures in place due to their transmission risk levels,” said Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak.

I have consistently been in support of safely lifting restrictions and reopening areas of our economic and social life based on improvements in our data, in addition to strong participation and enforcement plans from local governments,” Sisolak added. “The work completed by the Task Force over previous weeks, in addition to their recent actions, represent the State’s commitment to a transparent process, a safe reopening, and coordinated partnerships with our local governments.”
