Last night (September 28, 2020) Mesquite Fire Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire of a single story residential home on First South Street in Mesquite. Mesquite Police Officers, who had been called to the residence on a police matter, reported the fire after receiving information from the occupants.
Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the backside of the residence. No occupants were reported to be inside the home. Firefighters quickly laid down the needed hose and attacked the fire stopping further fire spread into the home. Additional resources from Mesquite Fire Rescue arrived to assist as well as resources from Bunkerville and Littlefield Beaver Dam Fire Departments.
The fire burned through one room and spread to the attic prior to firefighters extinguishing the flames. Significant smoke and fire damage was caused throughout the residence. No injuries were reported during this fire. The cause is still under investigation by Mesquite Fire and Rescue.
