The Progress

Mesa View Regional Hospital (MVRH) is pleased to announce a partnership with Senior Life Solutions. This partnership will create a new department at Mesa View Hospital. It will be located next to the hospital at 1301 Bertha Howe Avenue, Suite 7, Mesquite NV 89027, according to Robert Fuller, Director of Business Development.
Mesa View’s Life Solutions program is intensive outpatient group therapy designed to meet the needs of Senior adults struggling with symptoms of depression or any of the multiple anxiety related stresses of life.
“We believe the support services that Senior Life Solutions has to offer will be a tremendous benefit to a portion of our senior population and consequently to our entire community,” said MVRH CEO Ned Hill.
Senior Life Solutions was founded in 2003 and is managed by Psychiatric Medical Care (PMC). The program’s focus is on addressing the needs of rural and in underserved communities.
PMC manages inpatient behavioral health units, intensive outpatient programs, and telehealth services in more than 20 states. The company’s services provide evaluation and treatment for patients suffering from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, memory problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other behavioral health problems.
The Mesquite office will have on site Soren Johnson, RN, who is the Director for Senior Life Solutions Program. Also on staff will be Licensed Clinical Social Worker Marian Knudson, LCSW; and Office Patient Coordinator Doris Baeza. Dr. Saxena, a licensed board-certified psychiatrist will also be available through teletherapy.
There will be three group sessions offered in the program, following an individual assessment of each participant. Knudson explained that in Group 1 the process would be introduced and skill-based coping would be taught. Group 2 would teach various coping skills. And Group 3 would be the take-away group where discussions would cover how to use the skills learned in everyday life.
The local office is spacious with a separate room for groups and for private individual counseling.
Referrals to the program can be made by anyone: healthcare officials, family members or the patient themselves.
Group classes are expected to begin on December 14. For more information on services or verifying your insurance call 702-345-4373.
