Independence Day Committee Needs Volunteers

The friends of the Moapa Valley Independence Day has started planning for the 2021 Celebration. And they are aiming to make this year’s event one of the best ever.

The next committee meeting is Wednesday, May 12 at Clea’s Fabulous Realty office in Logandale at 5:30 pm, behind Green Valley Grocery. All who would like to help plan this year’s celebration are encouraged to join in and help.

Representatives from the Moapa Valley Rotary Club, Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce, Clark County Parks and Recreation, and Moapa Valley Fire District have already been working on preparations. But more help is needed from the community.

The theme for this year is ‘Freedom.’
“Now more than ever I think we should show appreciation for our freedoms and those who came before and sacrificed to ensure we have them,” said Lori Houston.

It is important to note that all of the activities this year will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

The plans include a sunrise flagraising service, community pancake breakfast, water games, the fire district water spray, community dinner, live entertainment, awards and of course the fireworks show to end the evening.
