Simone Levi Herrera

Simone Levi Herrera, 33, passed away on October 3, 2021 in Las Vegas, NV due to COVID-19. She was born on April 27, 1988 in St. George, UT to Donald and La Dawn “Boo Boo” Levi.

Simone was raised in Moapa, NV and Cedar City, UT and faced health struggles her whole life. She was born with chronic kidney failure and received dialysis off and on from when she was six months old to eighteen years old, when she underwent a kidney transplant. Even with these difficulties, she still worked hard and was involved in her community.

She worked on the tribal election, enrollment, health committees and the Moapa Housing Board. She also worked for the Clark County Election. She loved serving others, and had a great respect for the Elders, and considered them “her people”. She loved being with her family, going camping, traveling, cooking, or playing video games. She would go play bingo with her sisters, Vonnie and Charlotte, and loved all things Korean.

In 2007 she met Daniel Herrera, and after dating for ten years, they were married in Moapa, NV on November 4, 2017. In 2010, they welcomed their son, Gabriel Jesus Levi Herrera. He was the joy of her life.

Simone is survived by her husband Daniel Herrera; her son, Gabriel Levi Herrera; her parents, Donald and La Dawn “Boo Boo” Levi; her siblings: D. Joseph (Natalie) Levi, Joshua (Nicci) Levi, La Vonne (Samuel) Villezcas, Jonathan (Charlotte Lee) Levi, Brandon Bushhead, and Leslie (Chris) Bradley; and a large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ina (Lester) Asket, Guy Wall, and her cousin Anthony “Tiger” Santos.

Viewing and funeral services were held October 9, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Moapa Chapel. Interment followed at the Moapa Tribal Cemetery.

The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
