The Virgin Valley Artist Association annual Grand Bazaar opened last week on March 28 at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery. The Grand Bazaar will be open through April 28.
Two hours after the doors opened, the Association had already sold more than $1000 worth of merchandise. With forty talented vendors, there is truly “Everything Under the Sun” in the way of the arts being offered.
Everything on sale is artistically displayed. New this year: the art on the walls are also being offered for sale. Both rooms in the gallery are being utilized for this important event.
Shopper Dorothy Riley said she was impressed with the offerings at the Bazaar. “There are clever minds at work here!” she said.
Everything on display are unique, handcrafted items. That including the paintings which are done by local artists.
“We have thousands of original items for sale created by local artists,” said VVAA President Dottie Golden.
To make things even more interesting the Mesquite Café Blues Band has volunteered to hold a fundraiser for the VVAA later this month on Saturday April 23. The group will perform in the Pavilion from 1 -3 pm taht afternoon. Donations for the VVAA will be accepted.
This all-age fundraiser will also be selling tickets to purchase baked goods, snacks and drinks. The Bazaar will be open then too.
Shoppers Scott and Doreen Strong, of Mesquite were happy campers with their purchases. They said that they come to the Bazaar every year and also come to the gallery often throughout the year for the monthly exhibit contest award receptions.
The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is open on Mondays through Saturdays 10am-4pm. The gallery is located at 15 W. Mesquite Boulevard. For more information call 702-346-1338.
