The outdoor pavilion at the Mesquite Arts Gallery was rockin’ and rollin’ on Saturday afternoon, April 23. The Mesquite Café Blues Band were performing in the pavilion as a fundraiser for the Virgin Valley Artists Association (VVAA) and to promote the Grand Bazaar which it taking place at the gallery until April 30.

The band made up of Linda and Paul Villanueva and Wayne Andreola. Linda sings, Paul sings and plays guitar, and Wayne plays the harmonica. The popular group always draw a crowd and creates a fun time for all.

The Band has become members of the VVAA and will continue to do performances for them and support the arts.
VVAA members provided wrapped homemade goodies for sale. Sweets like blueberry pie, honey cakes and cookies were available for purchase.

The weather was pleasant with no wind. It was a pleasant day for watching the energetic Linda Villanueva perform. Many could not resist the urge to move to the music and dance themselves.

Kathy Line Jones and Rachel Thompson both said they had come to support the Art Association. “We are part of the Mesquite Toes and part of the Arts,” said Kathy. “Linda is part of the Toes and we support her. Paul wrote a song for us called the Mesquite Toes Blues.”

VVAA President Dottie Golden reported that they raised $720.00 on Saturday alone.
“Today was putting the fun back into fundraising,” Golden said. “We plan to have more fun events in our pavilion.”

There is still time to check out “Everything under the Sun” and the Grand Bazaar going on now at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery.
