Bradshaw Resigns As MSG Director

By BOBBIE GREEN

The Progress

Amy Bradshaw

Amy Bradshaw has announced her plans to resign from her position of Executive Director for the Mesquite Senior Games (MSG). She has led the games since December of 2018.

“I have loved working to promote the health and fitness of our seniors and have appreciated the opportunity to lead the organization these past 3 1/2 years,” Bradshaw said. “Along with my wonderful MSG Board, we have been able to upgrade many of our programs and were able to successfully navigate the difficult challenges posed by COVID-19. It has taken a lot of time and energy to accomplish this. Now it is time for someone with fresh energy to take the reins and move forward to lead this wonderful organization that I love so much.”

Bradshaw will stay on as the Executive Director of the organization, while the board looks for a new director. As such, she will be there to help acquaint the new person with the MSG operation.
Bradshaw said that she wants to facilitate a seamless passing of the directorship. Nothing will be changing in the interim.

She chose to depart now, at the close of the Spring season, so that the board has time to re-group with a new director before the Games begin again in the fall. That transition should be complete later this summer.

“At that point, I will be looking for part-time opportunities or volunteer work where I can keep busy and hopefully, still make a difference in our community,” Bradshaw said.

MSG Board secretary Ruby Sviontek is stepping up to help facilitate the search and hiring of a new Director for the organization. Those interested in the position may contact recruitformsg@gmail.com

“We, the board, want to thank Amy for all the time and effort she has given to MSG,” Sviontek said. “We would not be here today without her dedication and commitment to the Mesquite Senior Games.”

“We wish Amy all the best and know she will be successful in her future endeavors,” Sviontek added.

  1. Amy, I want to thank you for all that you have done. You have changed the attitude of what retirement is all about. You have given all of us a kick in the bu$$ and we thank you for it.
