Only one patient was on the books for July 19, the opening day at the brand-new Quantum Chiropractic office in Mesquite. But that number multiplied quickly leaving the office booked, busy, and happy all day long.

Getting an appointment with a chiropractor in Mesquite has become extremely difficult due to a high demand. But local kids that are all grown up now are coming home to supply some of that demand.

Dr. Jaron Hughes and his wife Carmina have finally returned to their hometown of Mesquite and are excited to welcome community members into their new Chiropractic office tucked into the corner of 190 E. Mesquite Blvd. Suit #B, next to the Valley Curls Salon.

Quantum Chiropractic specializes in Sports Recovery and Performance, Muscle Release, Y Strap Adjustment, Pediatric and Pregnancy with Low Force Technique Options and more. The practice is open three days a week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 to 5 PM.

After graduating from Virgin Valley High School in 2011, Jaron spent a little time working before he decided to pursue a career in the medical field. He attended Dixie College in St. George, then moved to the Bay area of California to attend Life Chiropractic College West.

Last December Jaron graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Doctor of Chiropractic. His residency was spent in St. George at True Health; a practice in which they focus on pediatrics and pregnancy.
“He is amazing!” said Jaron’s wife Carmina. “He doesn’t like to toot his own horn, but I am here to toot it for him.”

While in school Jaron made sure he was exposed to every chiropractic technique available. “He didn’t want to be a ‘one trick pony,’” Carmina said. “You go to some offices and they only do Gonstead or they only do NUCCA or they only do diversified. I said to him, ‘I think you should be awesome at every single one.’ He said, ‘I don’t know if I can.’ And I said, ‘Yes, you can.’”

Jaron has a true desire to serve. Since he understands that every body is different, he said his wife’s advice made sense to him.
“She was right,” he said. “The more tools I have to help someone, the better I can serve them.”

Jaron made it his goal to break away from the standard model of rushed chiropractics that dictates a 5-to-7-minute meet with patients.
“The first visit is 30 to 40 minutes so we can deep dive into the patient’s history,” Jaron said. “But the follow up visits are 15 minutes, which is way longer than normal.”

Jaron has a passion for empowering people. It is really important to him to spend time with his patients and to teach them how they can continue to heal their bodies after they leave his office so that they actually need to see him less.

“Jaron really wants the patient’s life to change,” explained Carmina. “That is why he takes time for longer appointments so that he can sit down with them and say, ‘Hey, you are only with me for 15 minutes, in a week. If you go back to hunching, or sitting with bad posture, your results are not going to be long lasting.’”
“When he can teach people to step into their own power to help heal themselves, that is where miracles happen,” Carmina added.

The name of the practice has a special meaning to the Hughes.
“The Quantum field of energy is often referred to as the place where all possibilities exist,” Carmina said. “It is energy. All of the potential for vitality, for health for true joy, for energy, is already within you.”
The day before the practice opened, the Hughes family gathered together at the new office to dedicate the space with prayer.

“I really want this to be a place of peace and healing,” Jaron said. “Regardless of where you are in life, I want you to walk in those doors and feel healing, not just by my hands but in the whole atmosphere.”
Carmina agreed. “You know, sometimes the world can feel really heavy,” she said. “We want you to know whoever you are and whatever you believe in, this is a safe place where anyone can come and be accepted.”
