Christian Book Store Now Open Amid Exquisite Blooms

Mesquite Blessings Christian Book Store is a cozy spot, nestled in a corner of Exquisite Bloom Floral Shop at 114 N. Sandhill Boulevard.

It is a perfect affiliation of Harry Wineman, owner of the book store and Denise Sims owner of Exquisite Blooms. Both sell products that express a kind sentiment.

Wineman has been a resident of Mesquite since 2014. There are not many people that would open a new business at age 95. But Wineman does not let age deter him in the least bit from his dream.
“The Lord gave me a thought in a dream to open this store,” Wineman said.
It only took a few days for the dream to be fulfilled.
“Just one week after announcing my dream, I was approached by Mr. Sims about sharing space in his wife’s new florist shop that was just about to open,” Wineman said.

The book shop sells Christian books, bibles and religious items such as crosses, statues, calendars and more.
“We have to start slow,” Wineman said. “But my dream is to have a place where people can sit, have a cup of coffee and read a chapter in a book, to ensure that is the book they want.”

Wineman said that he plans to start carrying more Christian books for young people in the community. “They need them and they will be good gifts coming from grandparents,” he said.
Wineman lives with his daughter, Juliette Ashdown and attends Living Waters Fellowship Church. He is a veteran of WWII.

Wineman has suffered the loss of three wives and one of his four children. The last business he owned was in Pittsburg Pennsylvania, where he was an Independent Insurance Adjuster with 18 employees.
“I am so thankful for my children and the dear Lord!” Wineman said.
