An Easter Egg hunt brought lots of smiles and laughter to children at Hafen Park on Saturday, April 19.
It took two minutes once the whistle sounded for all 6,000 eggs to be gathered. The children were divided into several age groups, starting with toddlers up to 10-year-olds.

Large Easter baskets were the prizes for those who found a golden egg. Shreeen’s Hair Salon, Daniells’s Chocolates and the Eureka for donated the baskets. Del Taco provided the eggs and Ace Hardware furnished the tape to mark the areas. The event was sponsored by the Virgin Valley Lion’s Club, Aloha Lion’s Club and Summerlin Lion’s Club. Marylynn Christensen, member of the Lion’s Club, said, “It was so great to see the children smiling and happy at finding eggs.”
The Lion’s Club was grateful to the City of Mesquite for allowing them to have the egg hunt at the park.
Children in Bunkerville gathered their eggs on the field by the recreation center. They were divided into five age groups, and when the signal was given, it took about two minutes for the excited children to gather the 6,000 prefilled eggs.
If the children found an egg with a note inside, they could go to the prize table and choose a special gift. Clark County partnered with Canyonlands Health Care to sponsor the event.
