This year’s Moapa Valley High School’s race for valedictorian and salutatorian was too close to call. Administrators explained that those titles would come down to the final exams. Here are the top five students for the Class of 2025 and a few words from them.

Max Coder – “One thing I’m definitely gonna miss is playing sports and being part of a team.” His future plans include serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

Russell Hardy – “The best part of high school was playing sports and participating in school activities. I’m really going to miss all of that.”After high school he plans to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and then attend BYU Provo.

 

Teagen Jenson – “For me, the best part of high school was definitely FFA. I will miss competing in FFA events and seeing some of the amazing teachers I’ve had over the years.” Her future plans are deciding on and pursuing a career (likely in the vet field or nutrition field) and slowly growing a homestead until she can be mostly self-sufficient.

 

Mallory Tobler – “The best part of high school was attending the sports games and school activities. I’m going to miss playing soccer as well as the friendships I’ve made.” Her plans are to go to Brigham Young University and pursue a career in the health care industry.

 

Averi Winward – “The best part of high school was the friendships I made throughout the years. They have been my support through tough times and are always there when I need a good laugh. I’m going to miss all these friendships the most. It’s hard to think that we are soon going separate ways after spending so many years together, but I’m incredibly grateful for the memories I’ve made.” After high school she plans to attend SUU in Cedar City to pursue a degree in nursing, and eventually she wants to be a preoperative nurse. Once she turns 19, she plans to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
