Mesa View Hospital Cancer Awareness’ 1st Annual Drive-Thru “Brake for Breakfast” got off to a good start, with 170 cars driving through on Oct. 1. Participants received a free bag filled with breakfast, coffee, breast health education materials and easy mammogram scheduling information.
The Mesquite Police Department and Mesquite Fire & Rescue Department, along with the Warrior Women of Mesquite Nevada, were there to help distribute the food and offer both information and traffic control.

Kelly Adams, MVH CEO, said, “I am very encouraged with the turnout here this morning and the community effort. The fire and police chief are here to support cancer awareness month.”
Riley Hunzeker, RN said, “The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and routine screenings, provide resources that encourage women to schedule mammograms and practice regular self-checks, engage our community in a positive, supportive way while reminding everyone that prevention and education save lives.”
This was an excellent event put on by Mesa view Hospital with a great turnout.. We hope this turns into an annual event with even more participants next year.
The Warrior Women of Mesquite Nevada were honored to participate and very appreciative of the invite. It was a great kickoff for Breast Cancer Month!
