The Virgin Valley High School girls golf team prepared for this week’s regional meet by finishing in second place at the final 3A South meet of the regular season, Sept. 30 at Casablanca Golf Course in Mesquite.
The Lady Bulldogs totaled a score of 402 to finish one stroke behind Boulder City, which finished at 401. Moapa Valley was third at 516.

Kenzee Burton was the top finisher for Virgin Valley, carding a 96 to place third in the medalist standings. Chloe Chang of The Meadows School won the gold with a round of 90 followed by Boulder City’s Riley Elder at 94.
Davie Slack shot a round of 100 for the Lady Bulldogs to place eighth just ahead of teammates Bella Jaehn (102) and Lexie Walker (104). Maycee Harris had a round of 120 for VVHS.
The 3A South regional meet will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at the Aliante Golf Course in North Las Vegas.
The 3A state meet is scheduled for Oct. 13 and 14 at Boulder City Municipal Golf Course and Boulder Creek Golf Course, respectively.
