Mesquite had a bad accident at the roundabout near the freeway and Falcon Ridge Parkway last Friday, Oct. 3. A car exited the interstate and flipped over, leaving the roadway. MFR responded to the scene at about 4:26 p.m. The single occupant in the car suffered critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to a location where they were LifeFlighted to the nearest trauma hospital. The incident is under investigation.
The week has been otherwise quiet for the freeways as fatalities on the interstate have declined in recent weeks.
It’s National Fire Prevention Week, and Mesquite Fire and Rescue are celebrating with a theme of “Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” a reminder to stay safe with the devices that power our everyday lives.
MFR will be visiting local elementary and preschools all week with fun safety presentations. Also, a Community Pancake Breakfast is slated for Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Fire Station 3.
The annual Mesquite Fire and Police Night last Wednesday was a success, and the respective departments expressed thanks to everyone for their support and dedication.
The LVMPD Northeast Resident Section had nothing to report but advised people to still lock up their valuables and to be extra cautious when leaving trailers unattended.
Beaver Dam Littlefield Fire Department reported it was quiet.
MVFD and CCFR Station 71 had no reported incidents.
