The 4-H Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) held a community Halloween dance party at the Clark County Fairgrounds Fine Arts Building on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 7 to 10 p.m., drawing residents from across Moapa Valley for an evening of dancing, games and fundraising. Costumes were encouraged, and many attendees arrived in festive Halloween attire.
The event featured swing and line dancing, with music provided by the Moapa Valley Robotics Team. The team managed the music for the entire three-hour event, playing a mix of Halloween songs, country swing and popular line dances.
In addition to dancing, guests took part in several games, including cornhole and limbo. Food and refreshments, such as nachos and drinks, were available throughout the night.
Multiple dance-offs took place during the evening, with winners receiving free nachos. The three best costumes of the night also received prizes.
Admission to the dance was $5 per person. All proceeds from the event were in support of the youth mental health and suicide prevention TLC program in Moapa Valley.
The evening was well-attended and ran smoothly, with participants of all ages joining in the activities. Adult chaperones volunteered at the event, helping to supervise activities, ensure safety and assist with games and refreshments.
Events like this have become an important part of TLC’s community outreach, offering residents a way to come together for a good cause. By combining entertainment with fundraising, TLC and the Moapa Valley Robotics Team provided an opportunity for the community to support local youth in a meaningful way.
