Logandale residents Shanan and Becky Kelly opened their home to the community on the night of Oct. 27 for their 20th annual pumpkin carving party. Over 100 neighbors and friends turned out for a fun evening of laughter, creativity and food.
Tables were set up where families and friends worked side by side, scooping, carving and decorating pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. A delicious selection of soups, breads and desserts were contributed by families attending the festivities.

Event organizer Becky Kelly said, “I can’t believe we have been doing this for 20 years. We usually have a great turnout of about 80 people, so this is one of the largest groups. The best part is seeing everyone smiling, laughing and working together. It’s a great reminder of what makes our community so special.”
Everyone brought their own pumpkin and carving supplies. The seeds and pulp were gathered to feed the Kelly goats and chickens.
Sugar and Judy Metz were there for the fun. Judy said, “I love to see the kids of all different ages here having fun together. It’s important to have parties like this to keep the kids busy.”
The Steven Holyoak family was attending for the fourth year. Steven said, “It’s good to be here to have time to visit with good friends and enjoy some good family fun.”
