The annual Thanksgiving community dinner will be held at the Mesquite Senior Center on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All Virgin Valley residents are invited. The senior center is located at 102 Old Mill Road.
A full, traditional turkey dinner, cooked by the cook staff at the senior center, will be served by volunteer community residents. Dinner is free, courtesy of the City of Mesquite and local business donors. Donations will be accepted in the donation jar.
There will not be any takeout dinners served this year. Krissy Hall Thornton, the program’s coordinator, said, “We want to go back to the original intention of the dinner, which was to promote neighborly fellowship and comradery among our residents.”
