On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the annual Desert Dames Fashion Show and luncheon, held at the Casablanca Resort, drew 152 people to view local fashions featuring easy-to-pack travel capsules and accessories.

The fashions were modeled by the Mesquite Showgirls, and Mary Jane Stiles made a hit as a last-minute fill-in for Juniper Outpost fashions with some exuberant accessories.

Sue Zarubin from Alt Om Bling filled in as narrator for Stephan’s Hair & Boutique and JS Merchants @Eureka. Some think she has found her niche as narrator as well as bling fashion.

Other fashions came from Alohigold, Cabi Stylist and Coyote Willows Golf Course.

Desert Dames was formed in Mesquite in 1995. They have held an annual fashion show since 1996. Current vice president and fashion show coordinator Debbie Gibbs was quite happy with the large attendance and the new buffet setup at the CasaBlanca, which separated food stations. Gibbs said, “I knew the stations would work out well.”

The Showgirl models who graced the wonderful runway fashioned by the CasaBlanca Resort were Becky Boyd, Bonnie Baracker, Bronzie Dabney, Deb Parsley, Joy Strickler, Kathy Roberts, Linda Villanueva, Sue Squire and Vicky Liptak.

There were plenty of raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing. The yadda, yadda, yadda was still going on down the hallway as the ladies departed.
