Studio B Dance Academy delivered a sparkling night of talent and heart during its winter showcase, “Snowflakes & Spotlights,” last Saturday, Dec. 6, at Moapa Valley High School. The event brought dancers together for an evening filled with joy, creativity and community pride.
The theme of the night carried a special message shared in the opening remarks: “Just like every snowflake, each dancer is beautifully unique. And tonight, every one of them deserves their own spotlight.” That sentiment guided the entire show, celebrating individuality and the dedication each performer brought to the stage.
The showcase featured a variety of dance styles, including jazz, hip-hop, ballet, lyrical, tap and acro. From the youngest performers stepping on stage to the experienced dancers showing polished artistry, every routine reflected the hard work put in throughout the season. Early in the night, dancer Aubrey Dumas shared how meaningful the experience felt, saying, “Studio B challenges me to learn new skills, and I love dancing here.”

Families and community members filled the theater, creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere from start to finish. The support from the audience added an extra layer of excitement for the dancers, who had spent months preparing for the big night. Studio B proudly welcomes dancers from across the region, with students traveling from Scenic, Arizona, and Mesquite, Nevada, as well as local families from Overton and Logandale — a true testament to the studio’s growing reach and positive reputation.
As the show continued, the joy on stage was unmistakable. Dancer Elizabeth Ebersbacher captured that feeling perfectly when she said, “I had so much fun dancing at the recital.” Her enthusiasm matched the energy seen throughout the evening, especially during the group numbers, where teamwork and connection shined.
Backstage, stage manager Deanna Dotson experienced the magic from a different angle. “These dancers pour their hearts into every routine,” she said. “I get a front-row seat backstage, and let me tell you, they light up the whole theater before they even step out.”
Later in the showcase, dancer Keelie Medlin shared her love for the studio. “I really love the studio and all of the girls there,” she said. “They all are so welcoming and such great dancers. I love them all, and the studio feels like home!”
As the evening wrapped up, the stage shimmered with smiles, sparkling costumes and the unmistakable excitement of a successful performance. Studio B Dance Academy now looks forward to another year of classes, shows and opportunities for dancers to grow — each one a unique snowflake stepping confidently into their spotlight.
