Almost 40 women took advantage of the mobile mammogram on Jan. 29 and 30 in front of the Cancer HELP Society’s office. They provide this service twice a year for the women of Mesquite.

The mobile mammogram is kept busy, traveling across Nevada to screen women over 40 years old. Nevada Health Center makes this service possible. At the helm of this mobile unit are Valeria Cervantes and Tasha Vick, two energetic and caring young women. “I was nervous about the screening,” one woman stated, “but these women made me feel so comfortable and at ease.”

The Mesquite Cancer HELP Society was founded in 2001 by Yoli Bell and co-founder Anna Medlin. They recognized what they said was a “need for a local organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Mesquite and the Virgin/Moapa Valley.” For 14 years, this organization has been instrumental in helping those with cancer.

“The Cancer HELP Society thanks Mammogram of Nevada for their relentless mission to help women get their mammograms with minimal delays,” Bell stated. “Thank you all who took time to get a mammogram!”
