Grace Valley Dance Academy kicked off its competition season with an impressive showing at the Axis Dance Competition in Las Vegas on Jan. 31, sending 25 dancers — up from just nine last year. Competing in lyrical, jazz, pom, contemporary and hip hop, the young dancers, ages five to 13, brought home an exceptional collection of awards, including seven first-place high gold trophies, two second-place high gold trophies, two overall high score awards, two top-ten awards, the “Most Entertaining” award and the prestigious Top Studio award.
A highlight of the weekend included a solo performance by Faith Guerrero-Flores, who earned a high gold score. Studio directors praised her growth, poise and stage presence, reflecting the dedication, hours of practice and teamwork demonstrated by all dancers.
Beyond competitive success, the studio was recognized for the professionalism and character its dancers displayed throughout the event. Studio leaders credited the dancers’ commitment, teamwork and the support of families and the community for the strong start to the season.

Looking ahead, the dance team is preparing to take its talents to the stage at nationals at Disneyland on Feb. 13, where the young performers will compete against some of the best dancers in the country.
The studio is also rolling out new team options for next year to accommodate a range of schedules and commitment levels. The Prep Team will provide a competitive experience with less time and financial demands while still focusing on skill-building, select performances and confidence growth.
The Elite Team is designed for dancers and families ready for a high-level competitive experience with increased training, performance expectations and team responsibilities.
“We are incredibly proud of how our dancers represented Grace Valley, both on and off the stage,” said Kaitlyn Vent, studio owner. “This weekend was a testament to their hard work, passion and dedication. We look forward to an exciting season ahead.”
Grace Valley Dance Academy continues to provide opportunities for dancers of all levels to grow, challenge themselves and shine on stage, creating experiences tailored to the needs and goals of every family.
