Jean Watkins, president of Women Who Inspire Women (WoMMA), has a mission to honor women who make a difference. They can be deceased or even be young girls who show potential to make a difference. Judges have been selected to narrow the competition down to a few women from Mesquite, Moapa and Arizona Strip. A champagne dinner is planned for January 22, 2027, to honor the winners.
April 30 is the deadline to submit nomination forms for inspirational women. Red ballot boxes are strategically placed in various locations, including City Hall, the recreational and senior centers, Table of Contents Café in the library, the Fringe and View Salons and the Donkey Museum.
The nomination forms may be submitted electronically (there is a QR code on the form) or filled out and put into the ballot box. Residents can vote for more than one woman. In fact, that is encouraged.
