Robert Emmett O’Neill, Jr.

Robert Emmett O’Neill, Jr., 88, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on April 28, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina, to Robert Emmett O’Neill, Sr. and Rebecca Louise Spencer O’Neill. On April 25, 1967 he married the love of his life, Marlene Davis, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bob grew up in Charleston where he developed a deep love for the ocean while his grandfather worked as a lighthouse caretaker. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in England and Korea, serving as a flight engineer.

After an earlier marriage that blessed him with two daughters, Bob found lasting love with Marlene. Together they were blessed with three beautiful daughters and built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. With their young family, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they opened Regal Upholstery and Drapery in 1974. Through dedication and perseverance, they established a thriving family business that continues to operate today while also creating a beautiful life together filled with love and cherished memories.

Bob was a gifted and talented artist who especially loved painting ocean landscapes, portraits, and scenic views. His artwork reflected his lifelong connection to the sea. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished hosting and entertaining friends and family, whether at home or at the lake.

Robert is survived by his wife, Marlene, of Las Vegas; his children: Louise Hawkins of AR, Sharon (Larry) Franklin of Las Vegas, Heidi (John) Douglas of Las Vegas, Shelley (Richard) Jones of Overton, NV, and Kim (Danny) Coggins of Las Vegas; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and his brother, John (Sherry) O’Neill of Las Vegas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Desert Vista Clubhouse, 10360 Sun City Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89134.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in his memory.
