Sandi Randelle, a local author, producer and host, gave a book signing at the Rotary Club on Saturday, Feb. 28. Several fans and friends showed up to offer their support and to purchase her books.
Randelle is currently working at the Mesquite STEAM Center with Steve Dudrow as a co-host. Her main passion is writing. “I have been writing all my life,” she said. “I remember my father taking me into a bookstore, where I was enthralled with the provocative cover of a book. I loved the book so much that I ended up writing to the author, Beatrice Small, who actually wrote back to me! I was only 12 years old at the time.”

Small became a role model for Randelle, who was impressed with the author’s ability to immerse the reader into the era of the book.
As a child, Randelle was constantly writing. “I would write about my favorite characters and just create stories.” This passion led her to pursue an education in the literary arts. Unfortunately, at this time the science fiction genre did not meet the standard for her Master’s degree.
Three of her books were on display at the signing: “Of Plight and Promises” (2013), “Of Dark and Bright” (2020) and “Chasing Shadow” (2024). She is currently working on her third book to complete the trilogy of the first two, which are centered around vampires. “Chasing Shadow” is a science fiction book. “It was my first attempt at humor,” she stated.
