The Lyon Middle School gym was filled with energy and celebration Friday, March 13, as the Marinette dance team hosted their annual revue, Last Dance.
The evening showcased dancers from sixth through eighth grade performing a variety of styles including jazz, pom, military and hip hop. Each routine reflected the team’s growth, dedication and hard work throughout the season.
Highlights from the program included “Poker Face” (jazz), “Girls, Girls, Girls” (pom) and “Who’s Calling It?” (hip hop). A standout moment of the night was “End of an Era,” a piece honoring past Marinette choreography and celebrating the team’s legacy.
For first-year team member Josie Bunker, the experience was especially meaningful. “I love to dance! I love being on a team and learning fun routines,” she shared. After being named Rookie of the Year, she added, “I was so surprised and happy. It was really cool to be recognized.”

Parents also reflected on the growth they witnessed throughout the season. One parent shared, “I have enjoyed watching my dancer grow in her confidence and improve throughout the year. She is so fun to watch, and I love seeing her joy when she performs.”
The revue also featured a crowd-favorite dad-and-daughter dance, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?,” bringing both emotion and strong audience support.
Student leadership played an important role in supporting the team throughout the season, helping create a strong and positive team environment.
As one dancer described the season, it was “memorable, crazy and loud,” while also helping her grow personally and as a dancer.
The Marinette revue served as a celebration of the dancers’ hard work and was a meaningful way to close out the season, leaving students with lasting memories and excitement for the future.
