Rooster Cottage welcomed a strong turnout from the community on Saturday, April 25, hosting a spring open house and customer appreciation day to celebrate its recent remodel and continued support of local artists.
Held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event drew a few hundred attendees who came to explore the refreshed space, enjoy live entertainment and support small businesses. Guests were greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere, complete with cookies, drinks and raffle tickets for each visitor.

The cottage showcases a wide variety of items, making it a unique destination for shoppers. Inside, guests browsed creative arts, furniture, wall hangings, lamps and home decor, along with bags, jewelry and gift items — offering just about everything needed to furnish a home or find the perfect gift.
Outside, local artists set up canopies and booths, creating a lively marketplace filled with handmade goods. Items included jewelry, wood carvings, animal treats, pet bandanas, crochet towel toppers and art of every kind. The outdoor setting added to the welcoming feel of the day, as visitors mingled and supported local creators.
Adding to the atmosphere, live music was provided by the Wheezin’ Geezers, known for their regular performances at the Beaver Dam Bar on Taco Tuesdays. Their music brought energy to the event, with many attendees swaying along as they shopped and visited.
Rooster Cottage operates as a 50/50 consignment shop, offering locals an opportunity to showcase and sell their work. The business, which first opened in 2011, continues to support artists by providing a platform for their creations. All items are inspected prior to acceptance.
Rooster Cottage hosts this spring art event annually, with a $15 participation fee, giving artists opportunities to share their work with the community. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the welcoming environment and the chance to support local talent.
