The Moapa Valley Library welcomed community members to Customer Appreciation Day with giveaways, treats and activities as part of Clark County Library District’s weeklong celebration of library patrons.
Community members stopped by the Moapa Valley Library recently to enjoy treats, giveaways and family-friendly activities during the library’s Customer Appreciation Day celebration, part of a weeklong Clark County Library District event honoring library patrons across Southern Nevada.
Held at the Moapa Valley branch, the event welcomed a steady stream of visitors throughout the day, offering free library swag, snacks, crafts for children and prize drawing sign-ups. Families gathered inside the library to enjoy the relaxed celebration while taking advantage of everything the local branch has to offer.
Library staff shared that Customer Appreciation Week extended beyond Moapa Valley, with each Clark County Library District branch hosting its own special event on different days throughout the week. In addition, visitors were invited to participate in a districtwide library passport activity, collecting stamps from different library locations across Southern Nevada. Some participants even traveled from Las Vegas, making stops at multiple branches in an effort to collect nearly every stamp.
While the appreciation event centered on thanking patrons, staff also highlighted an exciting summer ahead for the library and its visitors.
Beginning May 1, families can preregister online for the library’s annual Summer Reading Challenge, which officially kicks off May 15. This year’s program will feature one large reading challenge format, along with prizes for preregistration, participation incentives and special celebrations throughout the summer.
Library staff said programming will include activities nearly every day for different age groups, including children, teens and adults, reminding the community that the library offers much more than books alone.
One highly anticipated event will be a special performance by Fratello Marionettes on June 23, with library staff working to bring in a food truck to provide free treats for attendees. Additional summer activities, programs and family events are also planned in the coming months.
For many local families, the summer reading challenge has become a tradition, encouraging reading at home while giving children fun goals, activities and rewards to work toward.
With free community events, educational programs and something for every age, the Moapa Valley Library continues to be one of the valley’s most active gathering places, bringing neighbors together through learning, creativity and fun.
