California homicide suspect taken into custody

May 20, 2026 by Denise Houston Leave a Comment

A California homicide suspect was taken into custody Saturday, May 9, near the Nevada-Arizona border during a coordinated multi-agency operation involving law enforcement from Arizona, Nevada and Utah.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Noel Frishknecht, 60, was arrested near the Beaver Dam and Littlefield area along Interstate 15 after authorities received information from the San Diego Police Department indicating he might be camping in the region.

Deputies began surveillance operations on May 5 and eventually located Frishknecht at a travel trailer situated along the Virgin River, four miles west of Littlefield.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, officers from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, a K9 unit and BLM officers from Arizona, Nevada and Utah moved in on the location. Authorities said Frishknecht surrendered without incident. A police K9 later cleared the trailer, confirming no other individuals were inside.

Drone footage and body camera video released on social media captured the coordinated arrest operation and showed Frishknecht exiting the trailer before being taken into custody.

Officials credited the successful arrest to cooperation between the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the BLM and the San Diego Police Department Homicide Division, noting the joint effort helped ensure a safe outcome for everyone involved.

Frishknecht remains in custody at the adult detention facility in Kingman, Arizona, where he was booked on multiple outstanding felony warrants.
