Magician Adam London wowed adults and children alike on Wednesday, July 1, at a magic and comedy show held at the Old Logandale School (OLSHACS). The show was sponsored by the Las Vegas Clark County Library District as part of its 2026 Summer Reading Series. 

London is a crowd favorite every year, and this year was no different. He returned with an all-new show where mystery meets imagination. It was full of magic and comedy, engaging all ages and fun for everyone. For one of his first tricks, local teen attendee Avi Stoker loaned London her cell phone and watched apprehensively as he said he would smash it and then fix it. Instead, the cell phone magically reappeared in a completely different bag than she had placed it in. Local mom Sarah Leavitt also got to have her moment on stage as London pulled her from the audience and had her introduce herself as the world’s “second best magician.” She then magically produced the exact card that an audience member had chosen at random.

Not only did London wow the crowd, but he also shared his knowledge with young magicians. He gave the children a “behind the scenes” look at how he did some tricks and taught them how to do them, promising kits they could pick up from the library in a week or two, with everything they need to do their own magic. London then involved the whole crowd when he invited Granny Leone to come up on stage. Granny Leone was as amazed as the rest of the crowd when she was able to turn a puzzle of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers into a puzzle of the Mona Lisa and also provide the last missing puzzle piece from her pocket. Youngster Everett House was thrilled when he was chosen to help out on a trick that left him $3 richer and with a balloon. Lydia Dalley, 5, said that she really loved the show and her favorite trick was the one where the magician made the water stay in an upside-down cup. OLSCHACS provided Capri Suns and cookies for all the kids after the show, making the whole day a huge hit for all.

If you missed London’s performance in Moapa Valley, you can still catch him as the Library District’s summer performance series continues for a few more weeks. London will be performing at the Mesquite Library on July 11 at 11 a.m., the Moapa Town Library on July 21 at 2 p.m. and the Bunkerville Library on July 23 at 11:30 a.m. All performances are sponsored by the Library District and are free to the public. This year’s summer reading challenge is also ongoing, with some great reading prizes for both adults and children, but it ends on July 15, so head to your nearest library to sign up today.

Also, remember that the Overton Library’s last STEAM program of the summer is Thursday, July 9, at 11 a.m., and their summer water day is the following Wednesday, July 15, at 11 a.m. and will be the last program for the summer. Both activities should be fun and have plenty of fun photo opportunities. Crafter-morning will conclude for the summer on Friday, July 10, at 11 a.m., and the last LEGO club of the summer will be July 13 at 11 a.m. Teen space will continue Fridays at 2 p.m. every week.
