Discover the science behind the scene at Forensics Day Camp. The Lost City Museum Invites teens to explore crime analysis and investigation July 17-18, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This summer, young science enthusiasts are invited to step into the role of detective and scientist at the Lost City Museum’s Forensics Day Camp, a hands-on, two-day experience designed for teens with a passion for discovery. Archaeologist Virginia Lucas will be leading this camp and said, “This will be a great experience for teens interested in solving puzzles as well as the forensic sciences.”

Participants will work through a realistic mock crime scene, uncovering clues, handling evidence and examining skeletal remains as they learn the scientific techniques used by forensic investigators. Throughout the camp, attendees will gain practical skills in:

• Analyzing fingerprints, shoeprints, and gunshot residue.
• Identifying and examining human bones.
• Capturing and interpreting crime scene photographs for evidence.
• Using a metal detector to hunt for clues.

Open to explorers ages 13 to 18, the camp provides an exciting opportunity to engage with forensic science in a dynamic and supportive environment.
